    • 1

Read the instructions that came with your Toyota Supra aftermarket performance chip upgrade very carefully. Even if you have installed performance chips before, be aware that different manufactures often feature different installation instructions, tips and warnings.

    • 2

Open the hood of your Supra and locate the battery. Disconnect the negative battery terminal from the battery with a wrench. This will stop the battery from sending power to the car while you work on it. This will also help eliminate the possibility of a short that could damage sensitive electronic parts attached to your engine.

    • 3

Locate the box the holds the computer chip that controls your car engine. Use a flashlight to look along the firewall or your engine bay. The box will be silver or black and rectangular in shape.

    • 4

Open the box to expose the existing chip. Remove the chip by moving it slowly back and forth. Be gentle and do not bend or break the prongs attached to the chip. Do not force the chip.

    • 5

Insert the new chip into the empty socket by pressing it firmly into place and then close the box that holds the chip.

    • 6

Reconnect the negative battery cable, close the hood of your Supra and turn the ignition switch to start your car. Listen closely for noises that you have never heard before. If you hear unusual noises or notice a negative effect in the performance of your car, contact the manufacturer of the chip for advice and further instructions.

Tips & Warnings

  • Never work on any electrical components of your car with the negative battery cable attached. Never work on your car while it is running. These factors could cause permanent engine damage.

  • Become familia with the laws of your state in regard to engine modification.
