  • Trim panel removal tool
  • Phillips head screwdriver
  • Faceplate adapter

Lift the Camry's hood and loosen the bolt on the grounding cable with a wrench. Lift the cable from the battery and set it aside. Move to the interior of the Toyota.

Pry the top of the climate control panel away from the Camry's dashboard by hand. Allow the panel to hang below the stereo assembly by the wiring connections that go to the back of the climate knobs.

Pry off the trim panel that surrounds the stereo unit from the dashboard with a trim panel removal tool. Remove the two screw bolts from either side of the Toyota's stereo bracket with the 10 mm socket and drive.

    • 4

Slide the factory stereo unit from the Camry's stereo dock. Unplug the stereo wiring connectors from the outlets on the back of the stock stereo deck. Remove the antenna cable lead from the antenna input on the back of the unit and set the stereo aside.

Insert the faceplate adapter into the stereo dock. Pull the stereo wiring through the back of the dock to the front of the Toyota's dashboard. Plug the stereo wiring connectors into the wiring harness adapter leads.

    • 6

Connect the wiring harness lead connectors into the outlets on the rear panel of the new radio. Insert the antenna cable lead into the AM/FM antenna input on the new radio. Slide the radio into the faceplate adapter until it locks into place within the dock.

Replace the trim panel around the stereo assembly. Press firmly around the perimeter of the panel to snap it back onto the Camry's dashboard. Replace the climate control panel and press it back into place on the dashboard. Move back to the battery.
